Colour Series
Our colour series began in 2007, with The Temperamental Rose, a survey of historical and fictional colour charts inspired by an old box of vials filled with pigments found in a fleamarket. When we finished this book, we realized we had barely skimmed the surface of colour imagery, so went on to make After Image, a collection of games and toys; Occupied by Colour, the working life of colour for artists, chemists, designers and others; and Around the World in Colour, how colour is made and used in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
